At Ecoscope Environmental, our NATA accreditation provides independent recognition of our technical competence for the testing activities listed in our accredited scope.
First accredited on 31 May 2004, Ecoscope holds NATA Accreditation No. 14956 under ISO/IEC 17025:2017, the international standard for testing and calibration laboratories. What does NATA accreditation mean?
NATA—the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia—assesses laboratories against recognised standards. Accreditation provides independent assurance that a laboratory has the technical capability to perform the particular tests included in its scope.
Assessment considers the people, methods, equipment and quality processes behind the results. This includes staff competence, the suitability of testing methods, equipment maintenance, sample handling, quality assurance and reporting. Our accredited testing capabilities
Ecoscope’s accredited scope includes:
- Water microbiology: testing for organisms and indicators including Escherichia coli (E. coli), coliforms, thermotolerant coliforms, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Legionella, plate counts and iron bacteria.
- Microalgae and cyanobacteria: microscopic identification and enumeration of both planktonic and non-planktonic forms.
Our scope covers specified combinations of tests, methods and sample types, including drinking water, fresh water, estuarine and marine waters, certain industrial waters, sewage, trade wastes, and swimming pool and spa waters.

Local experience supporting your project
Established in 1997, Ecoscope provides laboratory and environmental services from our base in the Rockhampton area.
