Activated Sludge Reports

Wastewater treatment plants using activated sludge technology should check on the health of the activated sludge regularly.  A mature sludge can be highly efficient at treating incoming sewage. This sludge is made up of numerous microscopic lifeforms which help by ingesting and converting the raw sewage to safer by products.  Many factors can influence the health of activated sludge from in process controls to changing raw sewage composition.  Activated sludge can take many months to develop to maturity, but die off in a day causing months of headaches for operators.
